He is a loner at school due to his weight, and the only solace in his life is playing the saxophone, and Anna, a girl from his school, who he talks to on-line (Anna is unaware that she is being catfished). He is an only child, lives with his mum, who can only communicate with her son through food, and dad, who can’t communicate to his son at all. Butter (yes another YA) follows it’s teenaged protagonist who is nicknamed Butter (you found out why in the book, and it is quite harrowing), and weighs over 400 pounds. This is a quote from Butter, which seemed apt. And the more food I fitted in me, the less I fitted anywhere else.” The only thing that ever really fitted was food…inside ME. ![]() I didn’t fit into airline seats or Levi’s jeans or leather jackets. I didn’t fit in with the band nerds, the athletes, or the academics. “So I guess the downside was not fitting in. ![]()
